OSP Field Engineer in Los Angeles

Job Responsibilities Coordinate approved aerial applications and construction cable placement; field verify the make-ready engineering in the ready‑to‑build process. Review Dead‑Ends, False Dead‑Ends, T‑Leads and check for major GO 95 infractions prior to construction crews commencing work. Determine if anchors are blown and adequate per standard construction practices. No wind‑loading required. Redline the make‑ready; Queens Post / Sidewalk Anchors are used to support corners or leads of 4 poles or less. Leads of 10 poles need standard Anchor and Down guy size. Review climbing space when needed; Sonic believes the desktop engineering was performed and wants verification. Primarily construct aerial installations; limited underground work expected. Set up Share Drive for uploading pictures. Marrying down guys is no longer a practice; we do not bond all comms. All anchors should have a VGR and Insulator; you bond to the VGR. Do Not Bond To AT&T. Building below CATV may cause minor GO 95 infractions. Should be on CA‑Arm / F‑Arm to maintain 12″ separations from other comms and 6″ separation from drop, amplifiers and storage loops; watch for major GO 95 violations such as clearance from power, height over streets, blown anchors or insufficient guying, VGR and insulators. Blocking climbing space.
