Working under the limited direction of management or Senior Investment Staff, incumbent is responsible for implementing defined investment strategies across a diverse set of portfolios; creating, refining, and maintaining investment models; and enhancing existing or authoring original quantitative analyses to support investment strategy decisions and portfolio monitoring. By implementing defined investment strategies and advancing our ability to interpret results, this role is expected to contribute to enhancing investment returns within controlled levels of risk.

What you will do:

• Execute on the defined investment strategies for fixed income assets across a diverse set of portfolios, by opining on new issues, allocating new purchases, and calculating earnings impacts of various hypothetical trades.
• Direct trading desk as appropriate
• Monitor portfolio structure by creating, refining, and managing investment models and quantitative analyses; to identify and recommend opportunities to optimize earnings within constraints such as: duration matching, asset class diversification, quality, and liquidity.
• Monitor current and forecasted cash and liquidity across all portfolios / entities. Alert management if measures fall outside defined ranges and recommend corrective strategies.
• Collaborate with partners across Finance, Products, Risk, and Actuarial and provide standard reports, support for ad-hoc questions, and actual vs. expected analytics.
• Establish credibility and quickly build rapport with these departments as well as other investment division teams.
• Provide compelling recommendations for analytical methods, models, and procedures related to asset allocation, cash / liquidity management, trading analytics, and asset liability management.
• Identify and solve complex needs of clients through quantitative means.
• Develop effective quality controls through each phase of the analytical process.
• Recommendations are supported by well-conceived, hard hitting, and pragmatic analysis.
• Communicate recommendations in an intuitive manner.

What you will bring:

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or related field
• Preference given to incumbents with previous investment experience or previous financial services experience.
• Demonstrated ability to self-motivate, work collaboratively within teams, and be flexible to accommodate change within a dynamic environment, required.
• 5 - 10 years of experience in fixed income portfolio analysis across investment grade assets

• Knowledge and experience in asset allocations and monitoring across fixed income asset classes
• Knowledge of financial instruments, technical analysis, insurance asset liability management, and financial markets
• Experience working with large datasets with intermediate MS Excel and Access skills.

• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and quantitative skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Base Salary Range

$126,600.00 - $183,525.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
