Details Work in the ER Holding unit, caring for overflow and surge patients within the Emergency Department 13-week assignment at 36 hours per week Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM) with some shift start flexibility based on department need Every other weekend/holiday (EOW/EOH) requirement Floating required to different areas within the ED to manage overflow/surge patients Uses Epic for charting Union facility scheduling requires availability to work all 7 days with no special accommodations Requirements Active MA RN license required BLS certification required; ACLS preferred Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required Trauma Level I experience preferred Skills required include cardiac monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac), IV therapy, phlebotomy, and medication administration (including PCA) Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher Candidates with prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license will not be considered Additional Information Must pass a pass/fail telemetry exam and a pass/fail medication exam during orientation, each allowing only one attempt Failure to pass either exam will result in immediate cancellation of the contract Study materials will be provided throughout the compliance process and facility-directed interviews (FDIs) First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate within a 200-mile radius Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system before reapplying Facility allows coverage of 1 of the 3 major upcoming holidays as RTO Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment American Traveler Job ID P-766402.
