About the Job University of Minnesota | School of Nursing | 0.75 FTE (75%) Position Summary The University of Minnesota School of Nursing seeks a 75% (0.75 FTE) Research Professional 4 to provide project management leadership for two NIH-funded, food access-related research studies. This individual will serve as a designated lead responsible for overseeing all aspects of project management from study start-up through close-out, including multi-site IRB applications, collaboration across institutions, timeline management, community and health system partnerships, regulatory reporting, research staff training, and publication advancement. Primary Responsibilities Research Protocol Development, Coordination, and Implementation (45%) Working under general supervision but with considerable latitude for independent decision-making, the incumbent will create and establish research protocols in collaboration with the research team and Principal Investigator. The incumbent will develop detailed project plans outlining study timelines, staffing requirements, and resource allocation; coordinate the co-investigator team and project management staff across institutions; and ensure that protocols, data extraction plans, and study activities are implemented on schedule. The incumbent will continuously evaluate the rigor and appropriateness of study progress relative to study goals and objectives and will conduct ongoing quality assurance and timeline oversight. The incumbent will also oversee scheduling and communications with community sites to maintain data collection activities and positive working relationships. Throughout the grant period, the incumbent will participate in manuscript writing and dissemination of findings, as well as developing and revising summaries of study findings. Collaborating with Site Partners (30%) The incumbent will serve as the primary liaison between cross-functional departments and external partners, including the Twin Cities Mobile Market and HealthPartners Institute, coordinating the efforts of all project team members to ensure that project milestones and requirements are met. The incumbent will develop and finalize summaries of study findings and will facilitate productive, ongoing partnerships across all aspects of the studies. Communication and Dissemination (10%) The incumbent will provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress and any emerging issues or risks. This includes preparing reports, timelines, and other documents as needed for the efficient operation of projects, as well as disseminating study results through manuscripts, scientific conference presentations, and posters. Regulatory Reporting (5%) The incumbent will establish and maintain project documentation, including regulatory and compliance materials. Specific responsibilities include navigating multi-site IRB processes (preparing amendments and yearly continuing reviews), compiling ClinicalTrials.gov and other study registration materials, and drafting NIH progress reports. Budget Management (5%) The incumbent will manage and track project budgets, verifying budget reports and informing the study PI of any budgetary inconsistencies or concerns, ensuring expenditures remain within approved constraints. Hiring and Training (5%) The incumbent may participate in hiring study staff and will coordinate and provide training to all staff and volunteers involved in the studies. Supervision This position may involve formal or informal supervisory responsibilities consistent with the Research Pro 4 classification. The incumbent may be assigned authority to hire, assign work, direct, and evaluate the work of research staff, including student employees, or to mentor, coach, lead project teams and committees, interview applicants, and evaluate the work of colleagues and co-workers. Qualifications All required qualifications must be included in the application materials Required Qualifications BA/BS degree plus at least five years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree plus at least three years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant work experience totaling at least nine years. Project management research experience related to nutrition and/or public health. Project management experience involving collaboration with community and health care system partners. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in the University of Minnesota School of Nursing. Experience working on the Mobile Market trial. Experience writing scientific manuscripts and publishing in peer-reviewed journals. Experience as a research staff trainer and supervisor. Experience with evaluation and coordination of federally funded studies. Experience developing research protocols. Experience with budget management and vendor payments. Experience writing multi-site IRB protocols, documentation, and reports. Ability to analyze data.
