Job Purpose

Responsible for operating, setting up, and supporting a wide range of production machinery and processes across the production department to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations.

The Production Machine Operator is expected to work flexibly across multiple machines and work centers, supporting overall production flow, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to team performance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

#1 Safety:

• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements at all times.

• Maintain a clean and organized workstation in accordance with 5S standards.

• Immediately report safety hazards, near misses, or incidents.

• Stop work and escalate when unsafe conditions are identified.

Operations & Production

• Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of production equipment, including but not limited to:

o Swagers (small and large)

o Cutting equipment

o Straightening and finishing equipment

o Overhead cranes and material handling systems

• Perform production processes across different work areas such as drawing, cutting, heat treatment, and finishing operations

• Rotate between machines and departments based on production needs and skill development.

• Follow work instructions, production schedules, and quality specifications.

• Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain efficiency.

Quality

• Inspect raw materials and finished products using precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with specifications [Production...e Operator | Word]

• Identify and report defects or inconsistencies.

• Support root cause identification and corrective actions.

• Maintain accurate identification and traceability of materials.

Material Handling

• Select, measure, and prepare materials for production processes

• Transport materials safely using approved equipment (e.g., cranes, carts).

• Ensure proper staging and flow of materials between operations.

Reporting & Communication

• Communicate production issues, equipment concerns, and quality deviations in a timely manner

• Support shift handovers by sharing relevant production and equipment status updates.

• Collaborate with team members and leadership to maintain workflow and resolve issues.

• Operate multiple machines and processes within training and certification limits.

• Stop equipment when safety or quality concerns arise and escalate appropriately.

Education & Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Prior manufacturing experience preferred but not required.

• Willingness to work assigned shifts (including evenings or nights as needed)
