ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:

The Program Specialist – Innovative Technology is responsible for supporting the Senior Director, Innovative Technology Programs (“Senior Director”) to help ensure the program is successful. This position requires excellent interpersonal communication skills, ability to multi-task, strong leadership abilities, and good time management and organizational skills. The Program Specialist – Innovative Technology position is a non-tenure track position.

This position is visible to the entire College community and to the public at all levels and routinely interacts with all constituent groups of the College as well as prospective clients and students.

This position is primarily remote, however, in person attendance may be required in limited circumstances.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assume teaching duties as assigned by the program senior director within the Innovative Technology programs as a core program staff member.
2. Provide tutoring assistance to students that require it as assigned.

1. Prepares students for success in program progression (including but not limited to advising), obtaining employment upon program completion, and/or continuing their education.

1. Assist the Senior Director in the developing of, conducting, coordinating, and evaluating the experiential learning opportunities related to the Innovative Technology Programs.
2. Maintain current knowledge of innovative technology professions and educational methodology through continuing professional development.
3. Participate in curriculum design and ongoing curricular assessment of the innovative technology programs aligning with CAE standards.
4. Involvement in all areas of student and program assessment from admission to post graduation as outlined in the program assessment plan.
5. Support associated student clubs, summer camps, open labs, industry-recognized national honor society, program-specific student competitions.
6. Serves on College committees as needed.

1. Participates in activities that facilitate professional expertise in the areas of administration, teaching and maintenance of innovative technology competence.
2. Assists in publicizing and disseminating information about the Innovative Technology programs.
3. Assist Senior Director with measuring student attainment of program competencies and outcomes.
4. Participates in Lackawanna College professional development opportunities, including CTL and adjunct professional development training.
5. Participates in CAE designation process.
6. Performs other duties, responsibilities, and special projects, as assigned.

1. Ability to work flexible hours based on the needs of the College. Evenings and weekends may be required in support of events and activities.

EDUCATION:

• Master’s degree in the discipline being taught (doctoral degree preferred).
• CISCO teaching certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 3 years of actual industry experience preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years teaching experience at a college level preferred.
• Demonstrated experience developing/revising curriculum preferred.
• Experience teaching online preferred.
• AWS certification preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Position will require the ability to frequently reach, stand, walk, bend, twist, grasp, sit, talk, hear, see, climb and perform repetitive motions.
• Position will require the ability to lift and carry items up to 20 pounds, and push/pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
