Bindery Operator - Post Press Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Bindery Operator specializing in post-press functions to join our contract team in Des Plaines, IL.
The Bindery Operator will perform routine manual and automated post-press tasks, including operating bindery equipment and basic computer systems to complete job orders accurately and efficiently. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.

- PAY RATE: $20.00 hour
Responsibilities
- Set up bindery equipment and prepare materials for production.
- Monitor equipment and stock supplies to maintain continuous operation.
- Check incoming shipments, stamp and proofread customer orders, and generate labels.
- Operate bindery and post-press equipment to meet job specifications for accuracy, ink coverage, quantity, and labeling.
- Follow company policies and procedures to ensure smooth production flow.
- Use powered hand trucks for moving materials as needed.
- Inspect finished products to confirm they meet order specifications and properly manifest orders.
- Perform labeling, sorting, engraving special orders, loading trucks, and ensure compliance with postal and delivery standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the USA.
- Minimum 1 year manufacturing experience.
- Experience with printing processes and operations.
- Knowledge of Lean principles.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Experience operating powered hand trucks.
- Experience in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
