Job Description Summary The Patient Access Specialist position is part of the growing MUSC Health presence at the Bluffton Medical Pavilion, a modern outpatient facility designed to expand access to high-quality care in the Lowcountry. Primary Responsibilities Providing front desk coverage in a fast-paced outpatient setting Scheduling appointments for internal and external referrals, including hospital and community providers Managing high-volume multi-line phone systems with professionalism and urgency Completing patient registration, verification, and documentation accurately and efficiently Collecting payments for clinical services and assisting with billing-related inquiries Coordinating interpreter services to support patient communication needs Collaborating with clinical teams, schedulers, technologists, and referring offices to ensure smooth patient flow Supporting a positive patient experience through clear communication and service excellence This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in customer-facing healthcare environments, enjoy problem-solving, and take pride in helping patients navigate the care system with ease.
