Pharmacy Tech - Gardena, California

This opportunity is for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient pharmacy operations in Gardena, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in making IVs, preparing IVPBs and TPNs, and filling automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis), with a solid background in inpatient pharmacy practice.


Location: Gardena, California
Job Type: Contract (approximately 8+ weeks)
Schedule: Variable days and afternoons


Responsibilities:

• Prepare intravenous (IV) medications, including IVPBs and TPNs
• Fill and maintain Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets efficiently
• Respond promptly to telephone inquiries related to medication orders
• Deliver medications accurately to nursing units within the facility
• Utilize Allscripts/Paragon for order entry and documentation

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Proven inpatient pharmacy technician experience required
• Skilled in preparing IVs and filling Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets (mandatory)
• Familiarity with Allscripts/Paragon order entry systems preferred
• Ability to communicate clearly and follow safety protocols in a fast-paced environment

This contract role provides the chance to contribute to a busy healthcare setting with a licensed capacity of 173 beds and an average daily census of 140 patients. Flexible scheduling during day and afternoon shifts allows for some work-life balance.
