Registered Nurse NICU Clinical Coordinator

Las Palmas Medical Center in El Paso, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse NICU Clinical Coordinator to support our Level III/IV neonatal intensive care unit. In this role, you will provide advanced, compassionate nursing care to critically ill and premature newborns while serving as a clinical resource and leader for the NICU team. The NICU Clinical Coordinator collaborates closely with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe, evidence-based care, timely interventions, and seamless communication with families.

You will coordinate patient assignments, oversee daily clinical operations, and assist with staff scheduling, bed management, and patient flow to support high-quality, efficient care. The role includes mentoring and precepting NICU nurses, supporting ongoing staff education, and helping implement clinical protocols and quality-improvement initiatives that align with hospital policies and regulatory standards. You will actively participate in performance-improvement projects, audits, and data collection focused on patient safety, infection prevention, and clinical outcomes.

As a key point of contact for families, you will provide education on neonatal conditions, treatments, and discharge planning, while promoting a family-centered care environment rooted in compassion and respect. You will respond effectively in high-acuity and emergency situations, demonstrating strong critical-thinking, assessment, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced setting.
