General Summary
Responsible for the delivery, development and implementation of training programs for Blood Donor Collections (BDC) personnel. Responsible for assisting in competency assessments of BDC personnel.

Provide world class customer service by capturing and being responsive to the voice of the customer (internal or external, including donors for select positions) through multiple feedback channels in order to resolve issues and drive satisfaction in accordance with the BBG customer engagement, feedback, and complaint processes.

Major Duties and Responsibilities Essential Tasks

• Assist the Training Supervisor with the implementation of training programs.

• Train Blood Donor Collections technicians in all technical procedures.

• Make recommendations for solutions and improvements to training programs.

• Evaluate and document competency levels through direct observation and scenario-based assessments.

• Maintain a close working relationship with the Blood Donor Operations management staff.

• Attend meetings, seminars, and other workshops as required.

• Monitor completion of training and competency documentation for the Blood Donor Operations department.

• Assist in the training of other BBG staff as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

• Provide support to other departments.

Education Required

Minimum Education 
Requires a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.

Licenses and/or Certifications

• Valid United States Driver’s License

• ASCP Donor Phlebotomy Technician (DPT) preferred

Experience Required Minimum Experience 

• Requires three or more years of blood bank experience or two years of blood bank experience and two years of training experience.

Preferred Experience

• Prefer training in blood collection experience. Experience Exception to Education

Knowledge

• Must maintain knowledge of and perform according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies.

• Must have previous work experience with Microsoft Office, to include Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.

• Must have and maintain knowledge of current regulatory requirements concerning blood, client testing services, and current blood industry best practice Skills

• Must be capable of operating motor vehicles in all types of weather conditions.

• Must demonstrate competency in performing donor registration, screening, phlebotomy, and monitoring donor safety.

• Must have strong computer skills.

• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Must be able to assist in training activities for the Blood Donor Collections department.

• Must be able to keep information confidential.

• Must be neat in appearance and well groomed.

• Must be professional, detail oriented, self-motivated, innovative, creative, assertive, organized, communicative, and have the ability to work independently.
