Sales Associate

The Branch Sales Associate plays an integral role in all aspects of branch operations, from customer engagement to inventory management. This position requires a strong commitment to service excellence, with consistent follow-up and follow-through to build and sustain valuable customer relationships-from initial lead generation to closing the sale. As a key member of the branch team, you will contribute to the store's overall performance by supporting sales efforts, managing shipping and receiving tasks, monitoring inventory levels, and consistently aiming to exceed customer expectations. Over time, Branch Sales Associates are expected to develop the skills and readiness to serve as "Manager for the Day" when needed.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
• Assess customer needs and provide assistance and information on product features
• "Go the extra mile" to drive sales
• Maintain a tidy workplace, including the sales counter, showroom, warehouse, and restrooms
• Actively seek out customers in-store and in the field as applicable
• Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options
• Cross-sell products
• Collaborate with co-workers to ensure proper customer service
• Build productive trust relationships with customers
• Stock store displays and shelves as required
• Strive for inventory accuracy of 100%, maintaining all inventory policies, including but not limited to proper inventory movement, cycle counting, and the annual physical inventory
• May be required to make deliveries to customers
• Ensure that the store and all its properties are upholding the expectations of the Keeling Company brand: exceeding customer service expectations, cleanliness, atmosphere, and high energy.
• All other duties as assigned by the Branch Manager or Keeling Company Leadership Team.

Education/Certifications/Skills/Abilities:

• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. from the floor
• Forklift certification provided by Keeling Company
• Ability to use the computer for e-mail, invoicing, and inventory management
• High School degree or equivalent
• High energy and self-motivated with a high sense of urgency and customer service
• A technical or Agricultural Degree is a plus
• 1 year prior, proven accomplished sales experience is a plus
• Product certifications as required and provided by Keeling Company
