Full Stack Engineer - Heavy Data

Job Summary:

The Full Stack Engineer - Heavy Data is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting scalable backend and full-stack applications with a strong focus on data-intensive systems, API development, database optimization, and performance tuning. This role requires extensive hands-on experience with Java 17, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and database technologies while supporting enterprise data migration initiatives and backend product support activities. The position also involves cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and modern microservices architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot
• Build APIs that interact with multiple database platforms and enterprise systems
• Support data migration initiatives and optimize database performance
• Develop and tune SQL queries, stored procedures, and database views
• Troubleshoot and resolve database performance and application efficiency issues
• Develop microservices-based solutions using Spring and REST architecture
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle including design, development, testing, deployment, and support
• Support rotational on-call production support activities
• Implement API integrations, routing, orchestration, and service transformation solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business and technical requirements
• Develop reusable frameworks, libraries, SDKs, and abstraction-based solutions
• Utilize CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for application deployment and maintenance
• Support containerization and cloud deployment activities
• Create technical documentation and development artifacts
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and code reviews
• Ensure application security integration using OAuth and LDAP where applicable

Required Skills:

• Strong experience with Java 17 development
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and REST API development
• Strong backend and microservices architecture experience
• Experience with SQL or Oracle databases
• Database performance tuning and query optimization experience
• Experience creating stored procedures and database views
• Knowledge of REST, JSON, Swagger, and API development best practices
• Experience with JUnit, Tomcat, Maven, Git, and JIRA
• Strong understanding of Java core concepts and Spring frameworks
• Experience in Agile development environments
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred Skills:

• DevOps and CI/CD pipeline experience
• Angular and front-end development experience
• Cloud experience, preferably Azure
• 6+ years of software development experience required
• Experience setting up new applications and environments
• Python scripting skills
• Experience with OAuth and LDAP security integration
• Knowledge of Apache Camel and service orchestration
• Experience with containerization technologies
• Understanding of data structures and algorithms including trees and graph concepts
• Experience building reusable SDKs, interceptors, and enterprise libraries

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
