Marketing Intern

Chapman and Cutler LLP is seeking a motivated and intellectually curious Marketing Intern for the 2027 Summer in our Chicago office. Chapman's Marketing Internship is designed for rising juniors (class of 2028) who are interested in marketing in the professional services industry and seek to gain valuable work experience before returning to school for senior year. Our interns will work for the Firm for eight weeks in the Summer of 2027. The Marketing Intern will assist on various projects, with a focus on industry research, events, and social media support. The Marketing Intern will work closely with our collaborative Marketing team while reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer and Marketing Managers. The position offers on the ground learning opportunities and excellent corporate office experience, along with the possibility of extended full-time employment in the Marketing Department following graduation.
The responsibilities of the Marketing Intern include:
- Prepares detailed client and competitive intelligence briefings/reports and summarizes results in a visually stimulating and cohesive manner.
- Collaborates with marketing team members and other departments to support all aspects of client facing and selected internal/special events, including virtual events, videos, and data quality management for the firm's relationship database.
- Helps prepare social media posts and identify trends for purposes of client and recruiting engagement and brand recognition.
- Monitors industry and market (law and non-law) trends and best practices with respect to client engagement and competitive intelligence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Eligible to work in Chicago the summer between junior and senior undergraduate year; on track to complete bachelor's degree.
- Interest in the financial services and legal industries is essential, but no finance or law firm experience required.
- Excellent written, verbal, listening and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required..
- Dependability, adaptability, problem-solving; strong analytical skills, ability to draw conclusions from data, assess implications, and make recommendations.
- Strong client service attitude.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while remaining detail-oriented and meeting tight deadlines.
- Committed to following all Firm policies and information security protocols.
In accordance with the Illinois Pay Transparency Law, the expected compensation for this Illinois position is $25.00/hour.
