As a Security Officer Armed Access Control Patrol in Reston, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed officer at a dynamic tech and telecommunications location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support access activities with professionalism. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or local responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, offices, data-sensitive areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, deliveries, and visitor activity in accordance with site instructions to help to deter unauthorized entry and support orderly site operations.
• Complete detailed activity logs, incident reports, and shift communications, and follow post orders regarding assigned equipment, patrol routes, and escalation procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• An armed guard card and/or license is required.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
