Full-Time Intervention Specialist

Location: Dayton, OH
Position Type: Full-Time
Hours: 40 hours per week

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Intervention Specialist to support high school students in a Dropout Recovery program. The ideal candidate will be committed to helping students overcome academic and personal challenges while fostering a positive, supportive learning environment that promotes student success and graduation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
• Provide specialized instruction and academic support to high school students.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and support staff to ensure student success.
• Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
• Support students in developing academic, social, and behavioral skills necessary for graduation and post-secondary success.

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License.
• Experience working with high school students preferred.
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Experience with at-risk youth or dropout recovery programs is a plus.
