Senior Product Analyst - ERP Financials [Remote]

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Product Analyst - ERP Financials based in Australia.

This is a specialist product-facing role designed for someone who deeply understands accounting processes and is passionate about improving how financial systems actually work in practice. You will sit at the intersection of finance, product, and engineering, translating complex ERP financial workflows into precise, build-ready product requirements. The role requires someone who can move seamlessly between accounting detail and system-level thinking, ensuring that what gets built reflects real-world finance operations. You will act as a trusted subject matter expert across core financial domains such as period close, reconciliations, AP/AR, and reporting. Working closely with product managers, developers, QA, and support teams, you will help shape solutions that are not only compliant but genuinely usable and efficient. This is a high-impact role where your accounting expertise directly influences product quality, usability, and long-term platform evolution.

Accountabilities:

• Translate complex ERP financial and accounting processes into clear, structured, developer-ready product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria across areas such as general ledger, AP/AR, reconciliations, fixed assets, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Conduct in-depth discovery and requirements analysis, going beyond initial stakeholder input to uncover underlying financial, operational, and compliance needs.
• Map end-to-end financial user journeys, ensuring product design reflects real-world accounting workflows and user behavior in live environments.
• Partner with product managers to shape roadmap priorities and ensure decisions are grounded in practical accounting and audit-ready principles.
• Collaborate closely with developers, QA, and support teams to ensure accurate implementation, testing coverage, and issue resolution.
• Identify gaps between existing system behavior and best-practice financial processes, and propose well-evidenced improvements.
• Serve as a key subject matter expert in ERP Financials, guiding teams on accounting standards, controls, and system implications.
• Maintain high-quality documentation that ensures clarity, traceability, and alignment across business and technical teams.

Requirements:

• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, CIMA, or equivalent) or equivalent hands-on experience in senior financial accounting roles.
• Strong background in real-world financial accounting, including month-end close, audit preparation, internal controls, and reconciliation processes.
• Experience working with ERP or financial systems, with the ability to understand both accounting logic and underlying data structures.
• Proven ability to translate complex financial processes into clear, structured technical requirements and user stories.
• Strong user journey mapping and process analysis skills, with the ability to distinguish between documented and actual user behavior.
• Comfort working directly with technical teams, including developers and QA, and the ability to challenge or refine requirements where needed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce unambiguous, implementation-ready documentation.
• Self-driven mindset with strong prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple analytical and product workstreams independently.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery environments and tools such as Jira and Confluence is highly desirable.
• Experience in ERP vendors, financial software, or implementation environments is a strong advantage.
