What a Day Looks Like in Fort Wayne, IN

You arrive ready to keep a fast-moving operation running at its best. Your morning starts with a review of scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance, followed by a walkthrough of production lines and facility systems. A conveyor motor hums off-beat—you track it down, read the electrical schematic, lockout/tagout, and diagnose the issue. Midday, you pivot to a PLC-driven piece of equipment that’s tripping faults, then support a machine changeover for a new run. Before you wrap, you document your work orders, update supervisors, and line up parts for tomorrow’s install.

What You’ll Handle

Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on production machinery, material handling equipment, and facility systems
Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime
Diagnose issues with hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, bearings, conveyors, PLC-driven equipment, and automation components
Complete work orders, document repairs, and communicate status updates with supervisors
Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals
Support new equipment installs, machine changeovers, and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure safety procedures and lockout/tagout protocols are followed
