Transportation Dispatcher
Location: MT Pocono, PA

Pay & Schedule: $35.00 to $35.50per hour based on Shift. 

• Dispatcher 1st Shift 

  • Days: Sun-Thursday

  • Hours: 4am start and end time around 10-12 hours later

  • Pay - $35

• Dispatcher 2nd Shift

  • Days: Sun-Thursday

  • Hours: 1:30pm start and end time around 10-12 hours later

  • Pay - $35+$.50 shift diff

Job Summary:

• In the position of Dispatcher, you will coordinate and manage the scheduling and provide the daily routing to the commercial driver team for efficient operations and timely responses. Document routine maintenance, driver records, recording route data, and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and enforce safe driving habits.

  JOB DUTIES:

• Schedule customer delivery appointments, production shuttling, and any other moves to support the business needs. Use the proper channels for all scheduling.

• Support communication with all drivers throughout the day as you route them to successfully executing the routes. Communication must be performed in a manner that is not distracting to the drivers.

• Daily audit of drivers Hours of Service, Dash Cam Events, and Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports. Any defects must be corrected in a timely manner. Support driver needs in the event of a vehicle break down.

• Use of our Telematics systems to keep track of driver locations. Keep current locations saved for mapping, reporting, and routing features. Update fleet and driver information as needed.

• Maintain on time frequency of our equipment maintenance intervals. Usage of our providers software is highly recommended. Perform random inspections of tractor/trailers to ensure cleanliness.

• Communicate daily of how the routing progresses to leadership. Ask for assistance and support whenever required. All safety sensitive incidents must be reported to management and HR.

SKILLS:

· Navigational Skills – Must have general knowledge of the Greater Los Angeles Metropolitan Area freeway system. Must understand Google Maps and have GPS experience.

· Communication skills (verbal and written) – ability to convey meaning and obtain understanding

· Communication skills – Bilingual

· Organizational skills – ability to group work and resources in relation to the work being done, prioritizing, and scheduling.

· People skills – ability to effectively relate to customers and employees in all organizational levels, being sensitive to their needs

· Conceptual skills – ability to see entire operation objectives ensuring that individual programs work within the framework of the company’s objectives

· Customer relations – ability to relate to customers with an attitude of friendliness while conveying confidence in the company’s professionalism
