Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical/Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years License: State License Certifications: ACLS Must-Have Skills/Experience: Requires critical thinking skills. Decisive judgment is necessary. Ability to work with minimal supervision is essential. Must handle stressful environments and take appropriate action. Preferred experience in a medical/surgical unit is a plus. Description: This is a 225-bed specialty care hospital. The facility offers a range of services including Heart & Vascular Institute, Cancer Center, Brain & Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine & Weight Management, Women's Health, and Pediatrics. The facility also has premier imaging, surgery, and laboratory services. The hospital is located in the central region of Michigan's upper peninsula. It is the largest community in the peninsula and home to a university. The unit consists of adult and geriatric patients aged 18 to 125. The number of beds is significant, reflecting the hospital's capacity. Patient ratios are generally 5:1 to 6:1. The unit is equipped with telemetry monitors, IV pumps, bladder scanners, and EHR systems. Fingernails should be clean and not excessive in length. Tattoos that may be considered offensive must be covered. Excessive jewelry is not permissible. The dress code specifies scrub color as Galaxy Blue, with Navy as an acceptable alternative.
