In addition, employment at the College provides employees with access to numerous discounts for products, services, and attractions.**Position Summary****Responsibilities Include*** Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, offices, residence halls, lounges, and common areas* Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors, carpets, and surfaces* Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners* Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper* Clean windows, mirrors, glass doors, and other surfaces* Report maintenance issues (e.g., plumbing, lighting, or damage) to appropriate personnel* Perform deep cleaning during academic breaks or as scheduled* Maintain cleanliness in dining areas and event spaces before and after functions* Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines* Secure buildings and rooms after cleaning, as necessary* Assist with moving furniture or setting up spaces for events, meetings, or campus activities* Support special projects such as summer turnover cleaning in residence halls**Physical Requirements of the Position:*** Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time* Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 25–40 pounds* Ability to step stools to reach high surfaces* Repetitive motion tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and wiping* Use of hands and arms to operate cleaning equipment and tools* Comfortable working in a variety of environments (e.g., dorms, offices, restrooms, outdoor walkways)* Must be able to perform tasks in both hot and cold conditions, depending on building and weather**Guilford College** does not discriminate on the basis of sex/gender, race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, genetic information, military status, veteran status, or any other protected category under applicable local, state or federal law, ordinance or regulation.
