Sonographer II

Job Summary Performs diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images for interpretation. Requires a registered sonographer holding two or more registries appropriate for the department(s). Job Responsibilities Use a secondary registry in the primary or secondary department at least 30% of the time. Set up and adjust all equipment and manually maneuver transducers to perform exams. Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures. Perform routine and complex studies and assist in a variety of imaging procedures. Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations. Ensure equipment is functioning properly and report potential problems or malfunctions. Lock/tag out equipment when appropriate. Promptly submit all high‑quality images and documentation to PACS with correct labeling and patient data/history. Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms. Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies. Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: Completion of a Sonography program. Experience: No experience required. Physical Requirements: Constant standing and walking; frequent use of vision, hearing, and manual dexterity; lifting, pushing, pulling, and shifting objects and patients up to 50lb; repetitive movements; occasional kneeling and sitting.
