Title: Data Risk Manager

Location: Richmond VA(Hybrid)

Duration: W2

Job Description:

Role scope: Assess risks across legacy-data migration and decommissioning, new data pipelines and models, third-party loan-servicing integration, data access, data quality, and data mapping.
Ideal background: Data management, data risk/governance, risk frameworks and controls, strong analytical judgment, and clear communication. A DAMA certification is ideal for this role but not 100% required
Nature of work: The role provides horizontal oversight and partners with integration teams; it does not perform the migration or hands-on SQL/Python/data mapping. Responsibilities include drafting risk assessments and leadership updates.
Contract and hiring: Work is expected through May , with no confirmed extension. Shortlisting is planned for Thursday and Friday . The discussion described virtual interviews, including screens and a possible 30–45-minute case-style assessment; the opening overview also described one hour-long interview.

Role Description :-

Data Risk Manager to support a large-scale business and technology integration by assessing data risk across operational and analytical data flows, third-party integrations, data mitigations, and downstream consumption The role will partner with business, technology, data, and risk stakeholders to understand evolving data architecture, identify new or changing data risks, evaluate the sufficiency of data management controls and validation activities, and support development of risk assessments and mitigation strategies.

The ideal candidate would have:

Strong background in data management, data risk, data governance, or technology risk.

Experience with data migrations/conversions

Knowledge of data governance and control concepts

Strong analytical judgement and ability to work effectively in evolving environments

Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly with experience translating data concepts into risk assessments and/or executive summaries
