Policy Analyst Duties

As a Policy Analyst, at the GS-13 level, you will perform the following duties:

1. Coordinating and implementing a variety of law enforcement, immigration, and/or administrative policy initiatives.
2. Participating in Policy Unit planning activities and recommending future law enforcement and immigration policy objectives and improvements in collaboration with the agency's subject matter experts.
3. Drafting and editing directives, delegations of authority, memoranda of agreement, official guidance documents, and other applicable law enforcement, immigration, and/or administrative policy documents.
4. Working closely with subject matter experts, both internal and external to office, making recommendations to managers, and preparing strategies to address and resolve issues that may have little or no precedent AND
5. Working with program representatives and external stakeholders to resolve complex and conflicting ideas and elevating controversial issues to the supervisor as appropriate.
