Lead Carpenter Exteriors

Freedom Exteriors is looking for an experienced lead carpenter to serve as the production engine of our in‑house installation team. Reporting to the Install Manager, the Lead Carpenter is the primary driver of daily production on every job site. You will be relied on to set the pace, solve problems in the field, and maintain the high standard of craftsmanship our customers expect from start to successful completion on every project. Project work includes siding, window, and door replacement, in addition to deck construction and replacement. Our work is 100% residential. We specialize in premium projects for homeowners who care deeply about quality, so attention to detail and pride in your work are non‑negotiable here. This is not a supervisory role from the sidelines. You will be hands‑on every day alongside the crew, leading by example and holding the job to a high standard without being told to. Benefits Steady Schedule (Monday‑Friday, 40‑50 hours per week) Health Insurance PTO + 10 Paid Holidays Overtime Pay Tools, Equipment, & Apparel Provided Transportation Provided To & From Job‑Site Responsibilities Replace existing siding, windows, and doors on homes throughout North Alabama Install James Hardie fiber cement siding according to Hardie’s best practices and guidelines Install replacement windows and doors according to manufacturer guidelines Build and replace decking systems using composite decking products to meet manufacturer and code requirements Ensure proper weather barrier, flashing, and moisture management details on every project Maintain Freedom Exteriors’ quality standards on every task, including flashing, trim, fastening patterns, and finished appearance Set the daily production pace for the crew and sequence work to maximize efficiency Resolve routine installation challenges independently without requiring constant direction Qualifications 5+ years of hands‑on carpentry experience in exterior remodeling or residential construction Demonstrated experience installing fiber cement siding products – James Hardie experience strongly preferred Deck construction and composite decking experience preferred Working knowledge of weather barrier, flashing, and moisture management best practices Comfortable working at heights on ladders and scaffolding safely and confidently Reliable, self‑directed, and able to maintain production pace without constant supervision Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship on every project Compensation $30 – $33 hourly #J-18808-Ljbffr
