About the Role We are seeking a hands‑on staff security engineer to build and lead Rippling’s Product Security program. As an early member of the security team, you will shape the program’s priorities and direction, providing critical impact on the security posture of our product. About the Team Our security team is diverse and passionate about pushing the boundaries of security practices. We collaborate closely with engineering peers to design effective solutions and guide teams on secure coding and architectural decisions. What You’ll Do Build guardrails and controls to eliminate full classes of vulnerabilities in the Rippling application. Develop security tooling and automations to scale the Product Security team's practices. Threat‑model application designs, conduct security assessments, and audit source code. Provide code reviews for critical application changes and mentor engineering teams on security best practices. Drive the integration of security into the software development lifecycle. Qualifications 5+ years of product security experience. Proven track record leading architectural changes or cross‑team initiatives to mitigate security vulnerabilities. Deep understanding of securing web applications. Fluency in Python, React, and Django Rest Framework. Experience with manual source‑code review and embedding security into production code. Experience deploying security tools in CI/CD pipelines. Experience building programs that eliminate classes of vulnerabilities across the software development lifecycle. Bonus Points Knowledge of SSO protocols such as OAuth and SAML. Public speaking experience at meetups or conferences. Experience running a bug‑bounty program.
