Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PICU position at a top-ranked Magnet children's hospital, requiring at least 1 year of PICU experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work setting is a 390-bed children's hospital recognized as one of the best in the nation, holding Magnet, Teaching, Level I Trauma Center, and Level IV NICU designations
• Position is in the Pediatric ICU (PICU)
• Night shift schedule: 7p–7a, 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours/week
• Charting is done in Epic; experience is required
• Floating between the main Kansas City, MO campus and a sister facility in Overland Park, KS, approximately 12 miles southwest
• Free parking available with a permit
• Smoke-free and nicotine-free campus

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license and an active KS RN license required; KS license may be pending at start but must have documented proof of application
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS — RQI certifications are not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of Pediatric ICU (PICU) experience required
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• At least 1 year of prior travel nursing experience required
• Demonstrated skills in care of ventilated patients, ICP monitoring, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Date of birth and Social Security number required for consideration
• Two professional references from a supervisor level or higher, completed within the last 12 months, required for consideration

Additional Information

• Scrub color should be any kid-friendly color or pattern
• A medication/dosage test is administered during the first week; a passing score of 100% is required, with up to 3 attempts allowed
• The facility tests for nicotine use as part of its nicotine-free campus policy
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position; at least 1 year of travel nursing experience is required
