Description

American Traveler is seeking a Medical Surgical Oncology RN with chemotherapy administration experience and an active AK RN license for a 13-week acute hospital assignment.

Details

• Medical Surgical Oncology unit in an acute care hospital
• Variable 3x12 shifts covering day and night rotations
• Weekend coverage may occur more frequently than every other weekend based on staffing needs
• May float within scope to similar units as facility needs dictate
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active AK RN license required (license pending accepted, but must be in hand for auto offer)
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Oncology experience required, 2 years preferred
• BLS and ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification required
• Chemotherapy administration experience required
• Proficiency in IV therapy, port access and management, and central line care
• Experience managing oncologic emergencies such as anaphylaxis, sepsis, and extravasation injury
• Knowledge of chemotherapy administration routes including IV push, continuous infusion, and oral
• Experience with symptom management and psychosocial care for oncology patients
• Epic charting experience preferred
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities as part of consideration
• Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Time off requests must be submitted upfront during consideration; post-offer RTO may not be granted
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• May be required to float to sister facilities within the region
