LTC Closed Door Pharmacist Compensation

The pay for this position is $64.27 per hour
Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

LTC Closed Door Pharmacist Highlights

This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
The required availability for this position is rotating shifts between 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM with rotating weekends (8:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

LTC Closed Door Pharmacist Responsibilities

Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately
Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns
Ensure medications prescribed are appropriate and compliant with regulations
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and pharmacy files
Advise patients on medication usage, side effects, and drug interactions
Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications
Educate patients on proper use of medical devices (blood pressure monitors, glucose meters, etc.)
Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures
Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff
Maintain appropriate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
Identify and resolve drug-related problems in coordination with physicians and healthcare providers

LTC Closed Door Pharmacist Requirements

Active Virginia Pharmacist license in good standing
Experience working in a pharmacy setting
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and medication safety
Ability to supervise staff and work collaboratively with healthcare teams
Basic computer skills
High School Diploma or GED
Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days

LTC Closed Door Pharmacist Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy environment
Experience with sterile compounding
Experience in a closed-door pharmacy setting
