Natural Resources Senior Project Management

Overview WSP is seeking a Natural Resources Senior Project Management to join our Earth & Environment Team in Texas and Louisiana, focusing on Natural Resources and Permitting within the energy and industrial markets. Responsibilities Lead multidisciplinary teams across complex energy and industrial projects, ensuring on‑time, within scope, and on budget delivery. Direct and manage teams reviewing anticipated project impacts and avoidance planning considerations, balancing environmental, technical, and stakeholder requirements. Lead field and reporting efforts for client deliverables and regulatory agency submittals. Oversee all aspects of project permitting, including application preparation, coordination with local, state, and federal agencies, and management of public hearings and community engagement initiatives. Foster productive relationships with regulatory agencies and authorities, ensuring projects adhere to all applicable laws, standards, and best practices. Lead or contribute to business development initiatives to grow the business, identify opportunities, and build/maintain client relationships. Monitor trends, policy changes, and emerging technologies in the Gulf South’s energy landscape; advise on project strategy and business development opportunities. Serve as primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including clients, government officials, landowners, and the public. Ensure thorough project documentation, compliance records, and transparent reporting throughout the project lifecycle. Advocate for innovation and process enhancements, driving operational excellence across all projects. Travel within the Gulf South for site visits and public meetings. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. 10+ years of project management experience within the energy and industrial sector, with a track record in large to small scale energy projects. Familiarity with Gulf South energy and industrial markets dynamics, regulatory structures, permitting pathways, and regional infrastructure challenges. Ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes and build consensus among diverse groups. Exceptional problem‑solving skills and a commitment to high‑quality outcomes. Innovative mindset with a passion for operational efficiency, sustainability, and process improvement. Ability to anticipate regulatory or market shifts and adapt strategies accordingly. Experience with energy projects or emerging technologies is highly valued. Demonstrated success in growing client portfolios, recruiting, and engaging with a dynamic team. Expertise in permitting, regulatory requirements, analyses, and associated report writing and filings for Gulf South energy projects. Experience planning, attending, and participating in public meetings. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements affecting energy and industrial infrastructure in the Gulf South. Proven ability to manage teams, budgets, schedules, and contractors during all project phases. Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. Experience developing successful proposals and presentations. Strong written and verbal communication skills, defining and understanding client requirements, managing expectations.
