Principal Design Engineer (P4) - F119 Fan/HPC (Onsite)

An experienced mechanical design engineer is needed to focus on supporting the F119 Fan/HPC Component Integrated Product Team at Pratt & Whitney. The role requires leading investigations of military engine field incidents, developing serviceable limits, evaluating first‑piece reviews, and creating risk mitigation plans. The engineer must analyze quality non‑conformances, present results to customers and program management, and may be required to travel up to 10% domestically. Responsibilities Design lead for investigation of military engine field incidents reported by USAF to determine root cause and corrective action. Develop serviceable limits for engine part wear for the USAF and lead or support producibility improvement investigations at vendors. Perform engineering first‑piece reviews remotely and at vendor locations for new and cold‑start parts. Assist in creating safety risk analyses and develop risk‑mitigation plans. Present and communicate results to customers and program management. Analyze and disposition quality non‑conformances (QNs) for new parts and supplier requests for information (SRIs). Travel up to 10% domestically as required. Qualifications BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 8+years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related engineering field with 5+years of experience in mechanical design. Experience in gas turbines. Must be a U.S. Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations. Preferred: MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, 8+years experience in jet engine design, rotating hardware and airfoil experience, experience with Unigraphics NX and Teamcenter, ANSYS experience, familiarity with engineering standard work ClassI and II EC process, proficiency with SAP, and experience with fault‑tree investigation.
