Surgical Technologist

Schedule: Part Time, Saturday and Sunday 7:00 am – 7:30 pm (24 hours per week) with rotating holiday call. Shift differential for weekends. Pay Range: $26.75 – $34.00, based on experience. Benefits: Tuition reimbursement up to $3,000 per year Contribution and match on Retirement Plan Four weeks paid time off Access to Success coaches Free parking Job Objectives Assist the surgeon and first assistant during surgery by maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring instruments and supplies are readily available. Have skill and knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instruments, and procedures. Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with members of the surgical team. On weekend shifts perform quality‑assurance work and prepare and stock supplies when surgeries are not taking place. Key Responsibilities Provide a safe and efficient environment by preparing each assigned case. Act as an active member of the surgical team. Ensure overall efficiency by effectively clearing the operating room after each case. Maintain an optimal perioperative environment to meet patient needs. Provide quality care based on current nursing research and quality‑improvement monitoring results. Requirements National Surgical Technology certification or credentialed/grandfathered by NYS per 1/21/15 DOH regulation (2824) OR NYS LPN license. BLS certification required. Previous experience as a surgical scrub tech strongly preferred; at this time cannot hire an LPN without surgical OR experience. Will need to orient on weekdays M–F 7:00 am–3:30 pm for the first several months. On‑call requirements based on unit needs.
