The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Launch Systems Integrator to manage the critical interface between spacecraft and launch vehicles on National Security Space Launch (NSSL) programs. You’ll own the integration requirements, coordinate across satellite and launch vehicle program offices, and serve as a mission lead through payload processing and launch operations. 

This is a hands-on integration role in a classified environment. You’ll work directly with Government customers — including senior military leadership — and you’ll need the judgment to know what information to share, when to share it, and when to hold back. The right person for this role has managed the LV-SV interface before and can hit the ground running. 

What You’ll Do 

• Write and manage Integration Requirements Documents (IRDs) that define the LV-to-SV interface 

• Coordinate integration activities across satellite program offices, launch vehicle providers, and Government acquisition organizations 

• Author and manage Statements of Work (SOWs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and interface requirements — with an eye toward controlling mission-unique costs 

• Serve as mission lead: create presentations, run integration meetings, and brief senior Government leadership (up to General Officer level) on technical status and risk 

• Manage the integration process end-to-end, from early requirements development through payload processing at the launch facility 

• Analyze schedules, surface dependencies between LV and SV programs, and identify risks before they become problems 

• Interface with subject matter experts across propulsion, structures, avionics, ground systems, and range operations 

What You Bring 

• 7+ years of experience in space systems with a focus on launch vehicle-to-spacecraft integration (10+ preferred) 

• Direct experience managing the LV-SV interface — IRDs, ICDs, interface requirements negotiation, and integration process management 

• Familiarity with launch processing, payload processing facilities, and launch campaign operations 

• Experience writing SOWs, ECPs, and requirements documents in a Government acquisition environment 

• Proven ability to brief senior Government and military leadership on complex technical topics 

• Comfort working in a classified (SCIF) environment on-site in El Segundo, CA 

• Active security clearance strongly preferred; candidates with inactive clearances or eligibility will be considered 

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (aerospace, mechanical, electrical, systems, or related field); Master’s preferred 

• Experience across multiple launch vehicle types is a plus (Falcon, Atlas, Delta, Electron, Vulcan, etc.)
