Charge Nurse - Day Shift

The Charge Nurse is an integral part of the leadership team, responsible for providing on-site nursing services, supervision, and performing delegated administrative functions during their designated work shift. This role includes the implementation of current standards of nursing care, interpreting hospital policies to employees, patients, families, and physicians. An effective Charge Nurse will incorporate leadership and communication skills with conflict resolution, time management and organizational techniques, delegation, mentorship, education, and role modeling to ensure successful administration of care.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the safety and care of patients and families on the unit.
• Lead and supervise staff in providing safe and appropriate care.
• Enable colleagues through teamwork, encouragement, and empowerment.
• Model professionalism, dedication, and set an example for others.
• Act as a change agent to facilitate daily operations effectively.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Washington State RN License.
• Previous experience in Med/Surg, Emergency Room, and Charge Nurse role.
• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine is required.

Schedule

This position operates on a day shift from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, working 12-hour shifts. The schedule is rotating and may include some weekends.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
