Job Description: Amherst College invites applications for the Faculty and Staff Dining Room Attendant position. The Faculty and Staff Dining Room Attendant is a part-time (up to 19 hours per week), casual position with no benefits. The expected salary range for this job opportunity is: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour. The salary offered will vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to relevant education, training, and experience, tenure status, and other nondiscriminatory business considerations. The Faculty and Staff Dining Room Attendant supports the efforts of Amherst College Dining Services in providing the campus community with excellent service and implementation of menu items. This individual takes appropriate actions to support a diverse workforce and participates in the College's efforts to create a respectful, inclusive and welcoming work environment. This position reports to the Catering Manager and Catering Supervisor. The Faculty and Staff Dining Room Attendant, having knowledge of all ingredients, is committed to quality and excellent customer service. Ensures all food items, proper serving utensils, and menu signs are ready for service; and cleans the dining area during and after service for the faculty and staff dining facility. The schedule will be Monday - Friday, flexible 4-hour shifts dependent on department needs. Summary of Responsibilities:

- Welcome and provide service to guests and answer any questions.
- Obtain any items needed from culinary staff with allergens and signs.
- Remove dirty dishes from dining area, clean and maintain dining areas with table wiping and sanitizing.
- Retrieve supplies and restock necessary food and beverage items.
- Assist with the physical setup and breakdown of the dining room, including moving tables, chairs and equipment.
- Maintain clean and organized spaces, including vacuuming and post meal(s) cleanup.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 16 years or older.
- Equivalent work experience in lieu of minimum education and related experience.
- Successful completion of pre-employment physical and lift test.
- Successful completion of required reference and background checks.
- An acceptable criminal offender records information (CORI) check.
- Experience working in a college or university food service/Hospitality setting.
- Allergen Awareness Certified as required by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- ServSafe Certification.
