Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Associate degree in science or health-related field strongly preferred
• Medical terminology or Medical Assistant certification preferred
• Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and typing proficiency
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and laboratory systems
• Ability to follow procedures in a regulated clinical laboratory environment
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
• Ability to manage inconsistent workflow and multitask effectively

Job Duties:

• Receive, accession, and track incoming patient specimens using laboratory information systems (LIS)
• Prepare and organize materials such as cassettes, slides, and send-out specimens for laboratory processing
• Perform accurate data entry, scanning, and documentation in LIS and related systems
• Conduct quality control checks and verify data accuracy using printed and electronic reports
• Maintain laboratory supplies and ensure readiness of accessioning and processing areas
• Support QA/QC activities, process improvement projects, and workflow evaluations
• Maintain a clean and compliant work environment following bloodborne pathogen and safety standards
• Communicate with laboratory, front office, and client contacts to resolve issues and obtain missing information
• Assist with additional laboratory support tasks and special projects as needed
