Job Summary The Pile Driving Foreman leads the proper layout, assembly, installation, and securing of piles to their correct location and embedment depth. The role performs feedback throughout the job, assists with on‑the‑job training, and works safely, efficiently, and correctly to maximize profitability. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Understands project plans and specifications. Takes leadership by example, prioritizing safety and ensuring all crew members follow safe practices. Identifies potential schedule changes, workflow, and staffing issues for the designated crew. Plans, assigns, directs, and oversees crew activities to meet production goals safely and within contractual requirements. Completes daily Foreman reports, tracks production and crew timesheets, verifies accuracy, and submits in a timely manner. Trains employees on equipment use, job performance, cost control, quality, productivity, communication, and housekeeping. Conducts pre‑task meetings to identify safe work practices and hazards. Enforces job site policies, procedures, and standards within company policy limits. Uses judgment to troubleshoot and solve issues as they arise. Manages the quality control program to align with project design and consistency standards. Anticipates and solves problems to achieve project objectives. Reports to the site superintendent/project manager while collaborating with solar installers to meet and exceed goals. Other Duties and Responsibilities Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures; reports unsafe activities to Safety Representative or supervisor. Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skills. Education and Experience Minimum five years of experience building highways or roads. Knowledge of one or two phases of construction (Structures, Dirt, Pipe, Pavement, etc.). Less than high school diploma is acceptable. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Driver’s License, OSHA 10/30, First Aid and CPR. Language Skills Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and number series. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent; to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense to follow detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Planning / Organizing Handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Working Conditions Outdoors, but in an enclosed vehicle protected from extreme weather. Outdoors, exposed to changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, wind, etc. Physical Activity Level Moderate physical activity consisting of somewhat strenuous daily activities primarily product/technical in nature. Manual Dexterity Manual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items and work with the fingers.
