Pediatric Clinical Oncology Registered Nurse

St. Luke's Health System in Boise is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Pediatric Clinical Oncology team.

Unit/Position Summary

The St. Luke's Children's Cancer Institute is seeking an RN to join our team. The position will be providing hands on nursing care for Idaho's Pediatric Oncology population.

The Pediatric Oncology triage position is the backbone of the clinic and requires exceptional assessment skills to manage care of these patients safely. Communication skills are crucial to work with interdisciplinary teams and to provide exceptional timely care. The RN is the keystone to the complex, high quality, compassionate care the communities of Idaho and eastern Oregon have come to expect of our organization.

This position is part-time, 0.4 FTE (32 hours a pay period). The Children's Cancer Institute is closed on weekends and St. Luke's recognized holidays. We look forward to meeting you!

Responsibilities

• Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Develops, implements and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and on-going assessments
• Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework
• Performs therapeutic nursing interventions
• Manages care of patients
• Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities
• Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery
• Provides patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

• Nursing Degree
• Two (2) + years' Pediatric nursing experience
• Current RN licensure from the State of Practice

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) + years' Pediatric Oncology experience
• Chemotherapy/Biotherapy APHON provider
