Welder Apprentice (1st Shift)The Welder Apprentice (1st Shift) supports production operations by learning to weld metal components using MIG and TIG welding equipment. This role assists with preparing materials, operating welding tools, and inspecting completed work while following established safety and quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in welding metal components using MIG or TIG welding equipmentPrepare materials by cleaning, positioning, and securing workpiecesSet up and operate welding equipment, including adjusting amperage and voltage settingsLearn to strike arcs and guide welding tools to create proper weldsInspect welds for quality, including bead size and depth of fusionRepair cracks, holes, and damaged components as neededSupport assembly by positioning, clamping, and tacking parts togetherMaintain a clean and safe work environmentFollow all safety procedures, work instructions, and welding standardsPerform other duties as assignedQualifications & RequirementsHigh school diploma preferredWelding training through education or willingness to learn requiredAbility to pass a welding test during application or training periodStrong attention to detail and willingness to follow instructionsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamReliable attendance and flexibility for overtime and weekend work as neededSkills & AbilitiesAbility to read and follow safety procedures and work instructionsBasic math skills, including measurements and calculationsStrong problem-solving and reasoning skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentPhysical RequirementsRegular standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reachingFrequent lifting up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting up to 150 lbsAbility to use hands for handling tools and materialsVisual ability to inspect weld quality and detailsWork EnvironmentExposure to manufacturing equipment, welding fumes, and airborne particlesFrequent exposure to noise, vibration, and industrial conditionsOccasional exposure to electrical hazards and chemicalsPPE required in all production areasEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
