Department of Anesthesiology — Glens Falls Hospital (Albany Medical Health System)

Glens Falls Hospital is seeking a BC/BE Anesthesiologist. This is a Full time (1.0 FTE) l=flex/hybrid position. Join an established, collegial Anesthesia team with 7.5 physicians, and 13 CRNAs at a community hospital with academic affiliation (Albany Medical College).

Qualifications:

• MD or DO with completion of an accredited Anesthesiology residency.

• Board certified or board eligible in Anesthesiology.

• Eligible for medical licensure in New York State.

• Comfortable with independent overnight coverage in a community hospital setting.

Position Highlights:

• Flex schedule at 48 hours per week. Most weeks: one 24-hour shift plus two 12-hour day shifts (1×24 + 2×12). On weeks when the team is fully staffed: four 12-hour day shifts (4×12), weekdays only. The 24h shift may fall on a weekday or weekend, though typically no more than one weekend shift every two weeks. All shifts count toward your 48-hour weekly obligation and base salary. Your schedule varies based on team needs.

• With 8 providers each taking 9 weeks off per year, most weeks have at least one colleague on PTO. As the flex provider, you cover overnight shifts as they arise - typically one 24h shift per week. On the occasional fully-staffed week, you work 4×12 weekdays only. On occasional weeks when 1.5 or more of the 24h providers are on vacation, you may cover two 24h shifts in one week. All hours count toward your base salary and weekly schedule.

• Variety of cases including Endo, Ortho, Uro, Vascular, General Surgery, Plastics, Robotics, OB-GYN, GI, IR, and healthy Pediatrics. No heads, no hearts.

• Medical direction model: CRNAs practice under MD supervision with a maximum coverage ratio of 1:4.

• System-wide Epic EMR across all Albany Med Health System facilities.

• Glens Falls Hospital is a 391-bed ANCC Magnet Recognized community hospital and member of the Albany Med Health System, located in the beautiful foothills of the Adirondacks.
