The Community Partnership Manager will lead City Year Milwaukee's local community partnership and prospect-generation strategy to build a strong pipeline of prospective AmeriCorps members and strengthen the AmeriCorps member experience. The manager will identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with high schools, colleges, community-based organizations, workforce development partners, businesses, alumni, and other community champions throughout Milwaukee and Wisconsin.
Working closely with City Year Milwaukee staff and the national Corps Talent Acquisition team, the Community Partnership Manager will create opportunities for prospective AmeriCorps members to learn about service, ensure strong handoffs into the application and admissions process, and use community partnerships to expand career, professional development, and engagement opportunities for current AmeriCorps members. A significant portion of the role will be community-facing and requires strong relationship management, strategic planning, event execution, data tracking, and cross-functional collaboration.
This position reports to the Senior Managing Director of Program & Operations and is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The role includes regular travel throughout Milwaukee and the surrounding area for school, community, recruitment, and partner events. Job Description Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or a comparable combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in community engagement, recruitment, partnership development, youth development, workforce development, outreach, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining relationships with schools, community organizations, businesses, prospective candidates, or other external stakeholders.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and organizational skills, with the ability to represent City Year professionally in community settings.
- Ability to independently manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and follow through on commitments.
- Ability to interpret and use data, reports, and analytics to adjust outreach and partnership strategies.
- Experience planning, coordinating, or supporting events, presentations, workshops, or community engagement activities.
- Authorized documentation to work in the United States of America.
- Ability to successfully complete required background checks.
- Identify, assess, cultivate, and steward relationships with youth-serving organizations, high schools, community colleges, universities, workforce development organizations, nonprofits, civic partners, businesses, and other community stakeholders that can expand awareness of City Year Milwaukee.
- Develop and execute a strategic community partnership plan that identifies priority audiences, key partners, outreach strategies, events, and opportunities to generate prospective AmeriCorps member interest.
- Build mutually beneficial partnerships that support City Year Milwaukee's AmeriCorps member pipeline, strengthen the organization's local brand, and create value for community partners.
- Develop relationships with district, city, county, and state stakeholders connected to postsecondary pathways, career placement, youth development, and workforce development.
- Represent City Year Milwaukee at career fairs, tabling events, community events, school-based activities, informational sessions, and other prospect-facing opportunities.
- Create opportunities to bring City Year to prospective AmeriCorps members through presentations, workshops, application support, professional development sessions, open houses, and other value-add engagement.
- Partner with the national Corps Talent Acquisition team to ensure prospective AmeriCorps members experience a seamless, timely, and warm handoff from local outreach into the national application and admissions process.
- Support recruitment of returning AmeriCorps members and help cultivate interest in an additional year of service when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach, partner engagement, events, prospect activity, and recruitment outcomes in City Year's designated recruitment and relationship-management systems.
- Leverage community, business, nonprofit, education, and alumni partnerships to strengthen the AmeriCorps member experience and expand access to career exploration, professional development, networking, and post-service opportunities.
- Support site-based pre-service communication and onboarding activities that build connection and belonging for incoming AmeriCorps members before service begins.
- Support planning and execution of registration, welcome, and onboarding events for incoming and midyear AmeriCorps members in partnership with the Program & Operations team.
- Engage current AmeriCorps members and alumni to better understand their service experience and incorporate their perspectives into recruitment messaging, community partnership strategy, and prospect engagement.
- Build a site-wide culture of local recruitment by equipping staff with clear talking points, recruitment resources, community engagement opportunities, and pathways to connect prospective AmeriCorps members and community champions to City Year.
- Collaborate with Program, Impact, Development, Marketing/Communications, site leadership, alumni, and national teams to coordinate partner engagement and avoid duplicative outreach.
- Partner with the site communications point person to develop and share recruitment and community partnership content that highlights the City Year Milwaukee service experience and local impact.
- Review outreach and recruitment data regularly, identify trends and high-performing sources, and adjust strategies to improve prospect generation and partnership effectiveness.
- Maintain organized partnership, outreach, event, and contact records that support continuity, relationship stewardship, and year-over-year planning.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the direct supervisor to advance City Year's mission.
- Knowledge of Milwaukee-area schools, higher education institutions, community-based organizations, workforce development networks, civic organizations, and business communities.
- Experience working with young adults ages 18-25 or supporting college, career, national service, or workforce pathways.
- Experience using CRM, recruitment, or data systems to track stakeholder engagement and prospect activity.
- Experience facilitating presentations, workshops, or information sessions for diverse audiences.
- City Year or AmeriCorps experience is a plus.

- Proficiency with common productivity tools such as Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Ability to learn and effectively use CRM, recruitment, applicant tracking, and reporting systems used by City Year.
- Ability to analyze outreach and recruitment data and translate findings into practical changes in strategy.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills for school, community, and partner audiences.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally stand or walk during office-based work.
- Ability to move throughout schools, community venues, and event spaces as needed during the workday.
- Manual dexterity for typing, writing, and handling standard office and event materials.
- Visual and hearing ability sufficient to participate in meetings, presentations, community events, and routine office work, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Occasionally lift or carry outreach materials, supplies, or event items up to 20 pounds.
- Operates in a combination of professional office, school, community, and event settings.
- Regular local travel throughout Milwaukee and the surrounding area is required; occasional travel elsewhere in Wisconsin may be necessary.
- Typical schedule is Monday through Friday during standard business hours, with occasional early morning, evening, or weekend events based on recruitment and community engagement needs.
- Must be able to work effectively in both independent and highly collaborative settings and manage a schedule that includes time in the community.
- Reliable transportation for local travel is required when public or organizational transportation is not available.
