Key Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, temperature) and level of consciousness as patients recover from anesthesia
• Ensure a patent airway and adequate respiratory function, intervening promptly in the event of obstruction or respiratory distress
• Administer medications including analgesics, anti-nausea agents, and fluids to manage post-operative symptoms and maintain patient comfort
• Assess surgical sites for bleeding or complications, check dressings, perform physical assessments, and initiate appropriate emergency interventions when adverse reactions occur
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other members of the healthcare team regarding patient condition and care plans

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Candidates within 35 miles of the facility may be considered local travelers and are subject to an adjusted rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a high-volume acute care or surgical hospital setting
• Familiarity with airway management techniques and post-anesthesia emergency protocols
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
