Purpose & Scope:

The physician plays a vital role within the healthcare team, collaborating with colleagues to deliver comprehensive medical services to patients. Each physician's practice scope is determined by the credentialing and privileging committee of the health system.

This role involves supporting individual objectives, budgetary goals, and performance metrics.

The physician is responsible for all medical activities at the individual level, which includes the implementation of quality control standards, risk management, and compliance initiatives.

The primary duty of the physician is to provide high-quality clinical care to patients who have chosen our organization, ensuring timely responses to their healthcare needs.

Education:

A Doctorate from an accredited medical institution is mandatory.

Experience:

A minimum of one year of medical or surgical experience is required.

Certifications/Licensure:

Must hold a valid medical license issued by the Virginia Department of Health Professions.

- Transporting patients on stretchers, wheelchairs, or beds.

- Effective communication through spoken words, ensuring clear and accurate exchange of information.
- Visual acuity sufficient for reading, operating equipment, and inspecting machinery.
- Capability to perform Basic Life Support components if required.

Working Conditions:

Patient Care: The work is conducted in a well-lit and ventilated office or clinical environment. Employees may experience frequent interruptions and are subject to long hours and varying shifts. There may be occasions requiring work beyond standard hours, such as overtime or being on call. Routine exposure to infectious diseases, bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, hazardous chemicals, unpleasant odors, latex, and potential musculoskeletal injuries is expected. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided for situations involving exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious materials. Interaction with patients, family members, coworkers, and visitors may occur under various conditions, including those that are hostile or emotionally charged.
