Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM with call coverage as needed based on physician/case requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) in a high-volume general surgery operating room environment, supporting surgeons across 40–60 cases per day
• Assist surgeons during robotic and open surgical procedures including colon resections, hernia repairs, gastric sleeves, gastric bypasses, and cholecystectomies
• Operate and assist with robotic surgical systems and fire surgical staplers as required during procedures
• Scrub in and provide direct surgical assistance to the attending surgeon throughout cases
• Document accurately within the EMR system (Epic OpTime)
• Respond to call requirements within a 30-minute response time to cover cases extending into evening hours as directed by physician need

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• Current First Assistant certification (RNFA)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RNFA in a surgical setting
• Demonstrated experience with robotic surgical procedures as well as open surgical cases
• Proficiency with firing surgical staplers
• Ability to meet call requirements with a 30-minute response time on weeknights as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a large, multi-suite operating room environment
• Familiarity with Epic OpTime or similar perioperative EMR platforms
• Background in general surgery with exposure to bariatric and colorectal procedures
