IT Data Center Facilities/Electrical Power Specialist Tewksbury, MA (Onsite)

What you will Do Focuses on inter-team communication and documentation of Data Center details to support and enable smooth project growth. Serves as the primary Digital Technology point of contact for Facilities related issues within and affecting the Data Center. Provides input to Data Center metrics for the Monthly Operation Review and contributes yearly input for Digital Technology Facilities capital budget. Reviews Data Center environmental monitoring strategy with Facilities to include off-hour emergency response, power outage support, temperature monitoring, underfloor water and fire detection. Meets weekly or as needed with management to update Data Center schedules, issues, and outages. Responsible for standard Data Center processes including: naming conventions, access control, server inventory, change control, disaster plans and escalation processes. Provides escorting for planned and unplanned Facilities events/projects. Maintains smooth operation of Data Center services; plans, evaluates, coordinates, and performs installation and/or reconfiguration of Data Center racks. Maintains Data Center management software platform and ensures documentation exists (operational instructions, technical diagrams, and other documentation) or creates new documentation where missing. Provides regular monitoring and analysis for short- and long-range planning for in-house systems. Assists with coordination of third-party maintenance for Data Center equipment or with vendors for third-party support. Works with program engineers to resolve Data Center problems in tactical environments. Mentors and shares knowledge to improve team performance. Willingness and availability to work outside normal business hours as needed. Ability to work with general supervision and follow established procedures. What you will Learn You will apply your IT Data Center skills to defense-oriented programs. Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with minimum 3 years' experience. Experience with IT Data Center operations duties including Digital Technology (IT) infrastructure, networking and facilities infrastructure. Active and transferable U.S. government issued US Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Qualifications We Prefer Certifications in Security+ and Net+ within 6 months. Experience with access control lists, security posture, and vendor best practices. Experience with Visio diagramming and design capabilities. Willingness and availability to travel domestically as needed. Effective customer service skills, including oral and written communications. Ability to work under time constraints. Experience with classified computing and ICD705 and NISPOM Chapter 8.
