Job Summary
The organization is seeking an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse (RN) in Springfield, Illinois. This role involves providing care on a fast-paced IMCU unit specializing in telemetry, neuro stepdown, and post-cardiac procedures. The position offers an opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team in a Level I trauma center, delivering high-quality patient care in an acute care hospital setting.

Job Details

• Schedule: 3x12 days shifts (0645-1915) with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; active Illinois nursing license; certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) are required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in telemetry, neuro stepdown, PCU/IMC/Stepdown units; prior hospital experience; Cerner charting system experience; Level I trauma experience preferred.
• Open to accommodating block schedule? See with manager.
• Floats: Will float within scope to meet facility needs as needed.
• Special Requirements: Experience with cardiac monitoring, management of dysrhythmias, ventilated patient care, central line management, and various specialty procedures.
• Patient Care Details: Care for adult patients with various diagnoses, including post-cardiac events, neurological injuries, orthopedic trauma, and respiratory needs.
• Unit Details: 38 beds with a daily census of approximately 34 patients. High patient throughput and fast-paced environment.
• Experience & Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in arterial line management, cardiac drips, telemetry, ventilator care, wound management, and infectious precautions.
• Additional Information: The assignment begins on 07/20/2026. Orientation includes 24 hours of virtual training. Floating within the hospital or affiliate facilities may be required.
• Travel Experience Required: Yes.
• Certifications Required: BLS, NIHSS, ACLS (preferred).
