Lead Fleet Mechanic (Gas & Diesel)

$40/hr. to $55/hr. (depending on experience)

Are you an experienced mechanic who enjoys diagnosing problems, making repairs, and keeping equipment running—not sitting behind a desk?

Join our established, 65-year-old irrigation and landscaping company as our Lead Fleet Mechanic . You'll work on a diverse fleet of gas and diesel trucks, trailers, pickups, and landscaping equipment while helping keep our operation running efficiently. This is a hands-on role with long-term stability, overtime opportunities, and room to grow.

What You'll Do:

• Diagnose and repair gas and diesel trucks, trailers, and equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and major mechanical repairs
• Troubleshoot engine, electrical, hydraulic, brake, and drivetrain systems
• Use scan tools and diagnostic software to identify issues
• Keep accurate maintenance records and minimize fleet downtime
• Perform (or become certified to perform) New York State vehicle inspections

What We're Looking For:

• 5+ years of experience as a fleet, diesel, heavy equipment, or automotive mechanic
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with gas and diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
• Comfortable using scan tools and diagnostic equipment
• NYS Inspector Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• ASE certifications are a plus
