Neurology RN Team Leader

Position Overview Join our dedicated Neurology team as an RN Team Leader and play a key role in delivering exceptional, patient‑centered care. Primary Department, Division, or Unit: Primary Primary Work Shift: Day Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Compensation Range: $37.00 - $55.50 per hour, depending on experience Sign‑On Bonus: Up to a $15,000 sign‑on bonus for candidates who meet eligibility criteria. Job Responsibilities Coordinates clinical training, orientation and ongoing evaluation of new/existing clinical staff as well as completion and submission of clinical competencies at time of hire and annually. In collaboration with the unit coordinator, coordinates clinical schedules, ensuring appropriate clinical support. The RN provides clinical leadership while overseeing the scope of practice of LPNs and Medical Assistants in the office. Triages and assesses patients for early identification of signs and symptoms to prevent complications and ensure timely intervention. Educates patient and family in health promotion and disease management using available resources. Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to UHS Hospitals policy. Maintains CLIA Waived Lab standards and performs CLIA Waived Lab testing and oversees proficiency validations according to regulatory standards. Includes oversight of tri‑annual AAFP Lab Proficiency testing, lab quality controls and lab credentialing. Collaborates and leads patients, families, and all members of the health care team in coordinating patient care. In collaboration with the Unit Coordinator, participates in and facilitates Performance Improvement activities, monitors PI data and assists with the development of Performance Improvement plans. Collaborates with Unit Coordinator to promote and facilitate compliance and understanding of Joint Commission, NYS DOH, Infection Control and all regulatory standards. Participates in educational opportunities and assists in providing information updates and acts as a resource for all clinical staff. Ability to perform Non Stress Testing on OB patients. Ability to assist with in‑office procedures. Position Qualifications Minimum Required: Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing. At least 1 year experience in a health care setting with evidence of proficiency in those areas emphasized in the Registered Nurse curriculum. Current NY State RN license. Documentation of current CPR certification required within 1 week of start of employment. Preferred: Previous experience in a walk‑in / primary care / specialty care setting. Previous supervisory experience. Current driver’s license.
