This role is ideal for a proactive, organized, and people‑focused leader who thrives on developing talent, elevating standards, and ensuring our property is always at its best for guests and colleagues alike.The Engineering Supervisor partners closely with the Chief Engineer and hotel operations teams, overseeing daily workflow, prioritizing maintenance needs, supporting team development, and ensuring that all work aligns with Lyle’s culture, mission, and commitment to heartfelt hospitality.Who We AreWe live and breathe heartfelt hospitality, offering polished yet unobtrusive serviceWe prioritize making every guest feel content, comfortable, and genuinely cared forWe believe in simplicity—calm, intentional, and never dullWe live like locals and strive to be a brilliant neighborWe thoughtfully anticipate guest needs to create an authentic, warm Lyle experienceWe are empathetic, welcoming, and always openThere is truly no place like LyleEngineering Supervisor – Essential FunctionsOversee daily operations of the Engineering team, including task assignments, follow‑up, and quality controlLead, train, and mentor Engineers to ensure consistent performance, strong teamwork, and adherence to safety standardsMonitor and maintain all building systems—including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life‑safety—with a focus on preventive maintenanceRespond to and support the resolution of complex maintenance issues and guest requestsConduct regular inspections of equipment, rooms, and public spaces to ensure safety, cleanliness, and functionalityCollaborate with department leaders to support hotel operations, special projects, and facility improvementsMaintain accurate records for maintenance logs, inspections, inventory, and compliance documentationSupport budget management by monitoring supply usage, recommending repairs, and prioritizing projectsEnsure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulationsServe as acting leader of the department in the absence of the Chief EngineerKnowledge, Skills & ExperiencePrevious hotel or facilities engineering experience required; supervisory or lead experience strongly preferredStrong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systemsProven ability to lead by example, coach teams, and communicate effectively across departmentsStrong problem-solving, prioritization, and organization skillsAbility to remain calm, resourceful, and solutions‑driven in a fast‑paced environmentProficiency with work order systems and basic administrative reportingFlexible schedule required, including nights, weekends, and holidaysCommitment to high service standards and guest satisfactionCompensation:$25.00 - $30.00 hourly rateBenefitsAt Lyle Washington DC we are committed to giving our employees the skills and support required to deliver extraordinary experiences, and most importantly, to grow in their careers.
