Speech and Language Pathologist

Operation Breakthrough strives to support and empower children, parents, and families through advocacy, referral services and emergency aid. Job Summary The Speech Language Pathologist at Operation Breakthrough utilizes skills, leadership, advocacy, and collaboration to offer assistance for children enrolled at Operation Breakthrough to support overall child development. This includes responding to referrals, creating treatment plans, helping children reach individual goals, and collaborating with staff and parents on child development and strategies to support speech and language development. Qualifications Minimum Education Requirements: Master’s Degree in job-related area Experience: Working with children and parents in Early Childhood setting Certification: Valid Missouri Licensure in Speech and Language Pathology. Essential Functions Assess students' communication skills and identify communication disorders, determine service eligibility, develop recommendations for treatment Provide Speech and Language Therapy to students in early childhood including but not limited to whole class prevention and teacher consultation, individual treatment, co-treatment of individuals and groups with other therapists and staff (Occupational Therapy, Mental Health, Yoga) Communicate and collaborate effectively and timely with parents throughout the process of engaging a student in services Support School Aged Students Speech and Language needs as requested by Directorthrough individual and co-treatment group settings as caseload allows Collaborate with a variety of groups and individuals to communicate information, resolveissues, and provide services in compliance with established guidelines. Maintain files and/or records such as progress reports, billing information, requireddocumentation, quarterly reports, and screening results in accordance with regulations. Support record keeping process for children who receive IEP/IFSP and Internal SPOT(Speech and OT) Services Participate in IEP/IFSP and other external processes for students on caseload Contribute uniquely to the curriculum for language-based strategies with SPOT team and OB staff. Collaborate with multiple staff members, professionals, administrators, universities, community associates, doctors, clinics, hospitals, private therapists, and state agencies and possess the ability to interpret medical reports within the scope of Speech/Language Pathologist. Participate in all required meetings and professional development Respond to inquiries from parents, teachers, staff, and students.
